Springtime Reminder - Lay up!

Just a reminder for those of you doing poker runs in winter or early spring...

I don't want to see anyone caught without coverage because they forgot to double-check their insurance.

If you are participating in any events/poker runs during what are normally the winter months or off-season... double-check the following:

1. Does your insurance policy have a designated lay-up period? IF YES, then you need to call your agent and remove the lay-up for the duration of your trip.

2. Does your policy cover you in the navigable waters you will be boating in? If you are an inland-rated policy, then sometimes, you need to specifically endorse your policy to allow for waters such as "Coastal Florida". Contact your agent to be sure you are covered in the waters you are heading to.

3. Does your policy cover your particular event? Double check.

Again, just a simple reminder of things to double-check with your agent. 5 minutes of due diligence might save you the heartache if something happens and you realize you forgot to call in your trip. I have seen it happen and you don't want it to happen to you!
